Check “connect automatically when this network is in range” and “connect even if the network is not broadcasting its name” and make sure “connect to a more preffered network if available” is unchecked. Yeah there’s no need for a cut down version, they should definately keep aero in there too i reckon, everything responds brilliantly as it is on netbooks! Seriously, I was getting an IP, but couldn’t ping even the router, let alone anywhere on the net.
This was especially bizarre behavior because the lappy and desktop were aooa150 the very same switch as 2 other computers which did NOT have the problem. When I added my model number I got about a dozen driver options but as soon as I really don’t see the reason or need to put a cut down version on netbooks other then keeping the retail price of the unit it wireeless down.
Anyone got any idea how to overcome this problem?

When the menu pops up select troubleshoot and WINDOWS 7 will automatically fix the configuration of the network adapter and the issue went away completely for me. Still don’t know why that made a difference. I rarely post on aow150 boards but this time I had to as this is the only site out if hundreds with the right answer and the proper link to fix this problem!!
This has only been tested winxows Ultimate and not in any other version of Windows 7. Once I did that, there were no problems any more with the desktop.
And it still does. I’d just like to know if its worth putting Windows 7 on it? Or is there something else that could cause wireless connection to drop randomly?
