I didn’t want to read any more Holocaust books. These were real people. The stories have a sort of progression through the book. The author is incredibly talented storyteller, the reading is so easy and quick but the effect is proportionally opposite. As the other girls worry and timd, one girl sprawls in the grass reading a book and paying no attention to anyone else.

The stories offered a full range of emotions – all sobering but pierced by hope, anger, fear, resolve A Scrap of Time and Other Stories written by Ida Finkis a collection of fictional short stories relating various characters to the Jewish experience of the Holocaust. I love short stories, but to read what people had to go through. The stories present such a variety of situations and particularities that oda book really breaks through the generalities that so often get told about the Holocaust to the individual experience.
